Professional Practice

Mr. Cary concentrates on workers' compensation cases and collaborates with Jeff Wing on third party claims that arise out of work place or on the job injuries. Mr. Cary works closely with Jim Edmunson in maintaining a practice on the cutting edge of workers' compensation law in Oregon. Mr. Cary represents individuals in all aspects of the Oregon workers' compensation system and has successfully prosecuted appeals in the Oregon Court of Appeals.

Tom Cary has been an attorney of the firm since 1986. He became a shareholder in 1991.

Memberships & Affiliations

Mr. Cary is a member of the Oregon State Bar and is admitted to practice in the Oregon state courts, in the federal District Court in Oregon, and in the Ninth Circuit of the United States Court of Appeals. He is a member of the workers' compensation section of the Oregon State Bar, the Oregon Workers' Compensation Attorneys Association, and the Lane County Bar Association.

Education

He earned his law degree from the University of Minnesota Law School, magna cum laude, and practiced law in Minnesota for several years before returning to Oregon. He has lived in Eugene since joining the firm in 1986.

Personal

Mr. Cary was born and raised in Central Oregon and enjoys outdoor activities such as bicycling, canoeing, and cross-country skiing. He earned a bachelor of arts degree in history at Portland State University.

Mr. Cary and his wife have four children. He is an involved parent at Marist High School. He has previously coached youth in soccer, baseball, and basketball.
